What is FamilyBushes.com?

FamilyBushes.com is a browser-based family tree editor that is free to start. It was built for anyone who wants to document their family history without complicated software. Sign in with your email and your trees are automatically synced to the cloud so you can access them from any device.

Why we built it

Most family tree tools lock even the basics behind a subscription. We believe the essentials of preserving your family history — adding your relatives, photos and life events — should be free.

FamilyBushes.com was created to be the family tree tool we wanted to use ourselves: fast, private, and capable of handling extended families with hundreds of people. The core features are free; a Pro subscription raises the limits and adds advanced features for large trees and serious family historians. Sign in with your email — no password needed — and your trees are synced to the cloud automatically.

What makes it different

• Sign in with your email. No password needed — just enter your email and start building immediately.
• Cloud sync built in. Your trees are stored securely in the cloud and accessible from any device. Export a local backup any time as a single .fbft file.
• Share with a link, instantly. Enable sharing in your tree settings and send one link to your whole family or friends — no account needed to view it. They can browse the tree, gallery, map and more directly in the browser. Or export a full .fbft backup any time.
• Extended families work naturally. The editor is built for large, complex trees with multiple marriages, blended families, and many generations.
• Events on a map. You can pin geographic locations to life events and view your entire family's history on an interactive map.
• Multiple languages. The editor is available in nine languages: English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Lithuanian and Finnish.

Who is behind it

FamilyBushes.com is an independent project built and maintained by a small team. It started as a personal project to document a family tree that had grown too complex for spreadsheets and paper, and turned into a tool that others could use too.

The service is operated by Blue Grass Tmi, a company registered in Helsinki, Finland (Business ID 3633906-5, VAT number FI36339065).
